Carol and Randy Sauve teamed up in 2015 to host Cornwall & Area Pop Event - CAPE. Both have extensive business experience in the city of Cornwall and spent a few years researching the ComicCon market. Through their networking and research, they felt that Cornwall was ready to host its own Pop Event and thus launched Cornwall & Area Pop Event - CAPE on April 18th, 2015. CAPE 2025 celebrates the 10th Anniversary since the show began!
Randy has owned Fantasy Realm, the local comic shop in Cornwall for nearly 40 years and definitely knows the pop culture and comic book market. Carol is a known photographer with Carol Grant Productions and, for more than 25 years she has hosted, planned, assisted with and helped to organize more than 500 events including CAPE, Women Entrepreneurs of Cornwall and Area, weddings, bowling and softball leagues and Cornwall & Area Bridal Show. In addition to that, she has many contacts within the city. Together, they bring their combined experience to the city and provide a wonderful experience for all fans.
The couple enjoys travelling to numerous other conventions and cities to share their love for their great city of Cornwall and Randy was named Ambassador of the Year by Team Cornwall at the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in 2015.
Carol and Randy were recently recognized for the 2023 Cornwall & Area Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Business Achievement Award!
Join them for Cornwall & Area Pop Event - CAPE every April!
CAPE 2015 was held as a one-day show and attracted 3500+ people. CAPE 2016 grew to a two-day show and attendance reached 5800+. CAPE 2017 featured total attendance of 5,200 and the 2018 edition of CAPE peaked at its highest attendance of more than 6000 people! CAPE 2019 featured 4100 fans. CAPE 2020 was due to be held on April 25-26 but due to COVID-19, the show had to be cancelled. CAPE 2021 was planned to be held on April 24-25, 2021 but also had to be cancelled due to COVID. CAPE 2022 was finally held April 23-24, 2022 and despite Covid restrictions recently being lifted the show featured just over 3500 people! CAPE 2023 was held April 22-23, 2023 with 3300 in attendance. CAPE 2024 was held this past April with just over 3700 fans. Join us Aprl 26-27, 2025 for our 10th Anniversary edition!
In addition, CAPE has also hosted other independent shows through the years such as CAPE/Fantasy Realm Halloween ComicFest in October, and a Kids and Adult New Year's Eve Party.
